ChoriOz- A meat lovers dream
It’s hard to imagine the humble sausage in bread as having a colourful Argentinian history and embracing a rich pedigree of Australia’s finest beef.
But with ChoriOz it’s true.
ChoriOz is a premium meat chorizo sausage, nestled in a crusty roll and garnished with home style toppings, it has it’s history in the Argentinian ‘choripan’ but it’s flavour and appeal is firmly Aussie.
In Argentina the ‘choripan’ is a simple meat sausage served in fresh bread, it typifies casual, friendly relaxed eating, the ChoriOz is our Aussie equivalent. Made from award winning Australian Low-line beef, hand reared, nurtured and prepared my Monte Allegro Stud, in Nar Nar Goon, Victoria.
As one of the State’s top boutique producers of Australian Low-line cattle, a breed fast gaining international recognition, Monte Allegro produce a staggering 250kg of premium steak cuts, with the entire carcass utilised to produce a range of beef products including chorizo sausage, the heart of ChoriOz.

ChoriOz has been on sale at farmers’ markets, producers picnics, festivals and shows through out the state, including it’s sellout debut at the Melbourne Royal Melbourne Show in 2005.
The success of ChoriOz is quite clearly due to the product itself. The proof as they say, is in the sausage!
Making ChoriOz available to consumers at venues and events where food and produce are under close eye and where food is the focus has been a key marketing strategy.
With Monte Allegro successfully participating in these shows and events, the stud is in an ideal position to convey to the public the wholistic nature of food production, and introduce the public to the Monte Allegro philosophy. Well treated animals of superior

Premium beef product just doesn’t get up and sell itself. ChoriOz enjoys a high level of visual impact through the use of eyecatching graphics and promotional tools. Packaging, point of sale and
signage all combine to give ChoriOz visual impact.
Premium chorizo sausage
Monte Allegro chorizo is one of the few food products consumers can clearly trace to the source. Each Monte Allegro animal is named, documented and their pedigree recorded. Cristina Carraturo or Monte Allegro Stud explains, “this aspect is an integral part of our offering to educate consumers in appreciating not only superior taste, but to respect and embrace the source as well”.
Cattle are nurtured according to Monte Allegro’s firmly established and successful Endorsed Method Program. A methodology that embraces the animals wellbeing, nutritional requirements, treatment and conditions. The end product is produced in accordance with the Endorsed Method Program, with Cristina Carraturo supervising the slaughter and production of the beef product.
